SNR Denton has recruited a Linklaters banking partner, with Edward Hickman joining the transatlantic firm's London office today (9 January).
Hickman, who has been a partner in Linklaters' structured finance team for the last six years, will join SNR Denton's banking and finance department, which is headed up by City partner Paul Holland since he replaced Serge Sergiou in the role last November.
Hickman specialises in loan portfolio sales, securitisation, regulatory capital, commercial real estate financing, project bonds, debt capital markets and derivatives transactions.
Holland said that the hire had come as part of a strategic plan to strengthen and expand the banking department, with structured finance an area which the firm expects to be especially active going forward.
He said: "This is an excellent hire for us. Edward practices in an area which we expect will be very busy, and where a lot of creative thinking will be required, and Edward has a great track record in this field. In addition, his experience complements a number of our key client relationships, including with RBS, Barclays, HSBC and Standard Chartered."
SNR Denton recently completed a strategic review which saw its banking and financial institutions practice earmarked for growth alongside dispute resolution, TMT, energy, infrastruture and project finance.
The hire comes alongside two partner exits for the firm this month, with Tanya Nash set to join Ince & Co in London, while Abu Dhabi corporate partner Dean Alderton has left the firm without announcing his next move.
Last year saw SNR Denton lose a number of senior banking partners including Michael Black, who joined Norton Rose last week after serving a notice period since his resignation in May last year, while other departures from banking have included Ian Roberts to Pinsent Masons and James Linforth to Stephenson Harwood.
