By msnbc.com staff
Fire was tearing through a former mill converted into office and warehouse space in Cornwall, N.Y., the local newspaper reported Sunday. Smoke from the blaze reportedly could be seen 40 miles away at New York City's George Washington Bridge.
Some 150 firefighters were at the scene and after trying to extinguish the blaze apparently had to back off, the Times Herald-Record reported.
The former mill, a series of connected buildings, had been converted to an industrial park with nearly two dozen small businesses.
Business owners and staff were seen trying to pull equipment and goods from their offices ahead of the spreading fire.
There were no reports of injuries.
