How to become more involved with an autistic teaching career ...

Question by mrs.bearpack: How to become more involved with an autistic teaching career?
I am currently a freshman in my high-school. Unlike most freshman in my school I am very interested in my life, education and my future career. I want to become a teacher who teaches autistic children in kindergarten. I read that I should take classes and get involved with the autistic community. May someone please get me started on the right foot? Thank you.

I?m a high school freshman, too! And my sister is interested into getting into that field. What my sister did was during lunch or study hall, she went and ?volunteered? in the autistic classrooms. You should try talking to your guidance counselor, as they could set that up for you. I think for now, that?s the best way to get started. Then, you can open up to more opportunities as you get closer to college. Good luck, it?s a great career to get into!! :)
